Since its release in September 2023, the game has demonstrated remarkable growth, reaching 1 million sales in its first month and tripling that figure in less than two years, a feat bolstered by the launch of the highly praised DLC expansion, Lies of P: Overture.
A strong launch that continued to grow
This sales milestone reflects full purchases across multiple platforms—including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam—excluding players who accessed the game through Xbox Game Pass, although the total player base has grown to over 7 million worldwide due to such subscriptions. Importantly, more than 90% of these sales come from outside South Korea, spanning markets in North America, Europe, and Japan, demonstrating Lies of P’s broad international appeal fueled by its innovative blend of a Belle Epoque-inspired dark setting, complex combat mechanics, and narrative depth.
The dev team received unique rewards
In recognition of this commercial success, NEOWIZ rewarded the Round8 development team with generous bonuses including approximately $ 7,200.00 USD in cash, two weeks of paid vacation, and Nintendo Switch 2 consoles for each team member—an acknowledgment of their hard work and the game’s promising future as a franchise.
