ADVERTISEMENT 1 ## How to Play PlayOK Spades? **1. Setup & Deal** Join Game: Log in to PlayOK, find a Spades table, and join (usually 4 players in teams of 2). Deal: The dealer shuffles and deals all 52 cards one at a time, giving each player 13 cards. **2. Bidding Phase** - Bid: Starting left of the dealer, each player bids the number of tricks (books) they think they (and their partner) can win. - Partner Bid: Your bid plus your partner’s bid forms your team’s contract for the hand. - Nil Bid: Bidding zero (Nil) is a risky bid to take no tricks for big points. **3. Playing the Hand (Tricks)** ADVERTISEMENT 2 - Lead: Player to the dealer’s left leads any card except a spade. - Follow Suit: Players must play a card of the same suit if they have one (clockwise). - Trump/Cut: If you can’t follow suit, you can play any card, including a spade (trump). - Win Trick: Highest card of the led suit wins; if spades are played, the highest spade wins. - Next Lead: The trick winner leads the next trick. - Breaking Spades: Spades can’t be led until one is played (cut) on a non-spade lead, or if you only have spades left. **4. Scoring** - Making Bid: 10 points per trick bid (e.g., bid 4, make 4 = 40 pts). - Overbid (Bags): +1 point for each trick over your bid (bags). - Bags Penalty: Every 10 bags results in a 100-point deduction. - Missed Bid: -10 points for each trick bid (e.g., bid 4, make 3 = -40 pts). - Nil: +100 pts for a successful Nil bid; -100 pts for failing (taking tricks). **5. Winning** - Play continues, with the dealer rotating, until a team reaches 500 points. ### App Download: [🖥️ On PlayOK](https://www.playok.com/en/spades/) ADVERTISEMENT 4
